Tried a 2x digital, 10x optical zoom, in case the uneven zoom number caused trouble in the first shot.
Still doesn't seem as clear to me as pure optical.

2x GIMP scale image of the 10x optical zoom image.
This is way better than the 2x digital zoom version of it, so definitely disabling digital zoom.
